Throughout Alan’s career, one thing that he has always acknowledged as a critical part of his success as a CEO, was the importance of people, the development and opportunity provided to them.
Summary
Alan started his managerial career at 23 when he became General Manager of a manufacturing company in Manchester. The experience in manufacturing continued for 20 years, living in the UK, USA, and China and covered sectors including injection moulding, electronics, lighting, foundry and casting, electronics, assembly and production. Alan then spent 20 years in distribution, across multiple sites and lived and worked in the USA, UK and Australia.
This broad experience in senior roles, with remits including JV’s, start up’s, mergers, growth, and diversification, allows Alan to speak with authority, understand business issues quickly, and put in place action plans effectively and efficiently.
As a lifelong learner, Alan has studied throughout his career he graduated with an MBA at Huddersfield University and a LLb Law degree also at Huddersfield University. Wanting to then start up his own executive coaching business, he studied a Masters degree in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology (MAPPCP) at the University of East London. Finally, Alan was recently awarded his PhD in International Business.
