Over a business consulting and HR career Jane has worked in a range of sectors including financial services, professional services, manufacturing, engineering, energy and not for profit. This has included working with some of the largest corporates such as Royal Dutch Shell to owner managed businesses and start-ups with exciting growth plans.

Whilst at Shell Jane introduced the Group People Standards, as a Global Talent Manager established the Talent and Learning strategy and programme for a global function and delivered against a 20% cost reduction target. Highly experienced in establishing HR functions within growing businesses as Head of HR for a professional services firm Jane introduced strategies and processes to improve the candidate experience during the recruitment process, and reduced the overall cost of recruitment by 15%.

During her time at Sturrock and Robson Group (a family-owned industrial portfolio business) as part of the senior leadership team Jane developed the People Strategy to support the Group business strategy, introduced Talent and Succession planning which included building supporting strategies such as a goals and development planning process to align individual goals with the organisational goals, introduce a leadership coaching programme a group onboarding programme, identify people risks. As a result businesses were able to use the data from the talent and succession planning to mitigate against key role risk – particularly important in smaller organisations. Also whilst at Sturrock and Robson Jane worked on their leading edge employee engagement programme that had seen engagement rates increase from 65% to 85%+ within two years. Jane ensured that the impressive results were continued to be on the Group agenda through working with the businesses on their improvement action plans and introducing Group reporting to track progress and take action when required.

Jane has an MSc in Strategic Training and Development and is a member of CIPD.
