Jim has wide-ranging experience in developing new businesses, leading teams, and delivering organisational improvement. He also has a multi-sector background in sales generation, and is a qualified business coach.


Jim first started his own education and training company in 1985 which he led for 15 years, working mainly in the public sector throughout the Yorkshire region. He then evolved many of the services into a consultancy, placing leadership development programmes into the logistics industry, warehousing and transport. He gained his coaching qualification in 2006, and began to take on clients, stretching his work into sectors such as the NHS and sports development, tackling issues such as performance management, talent mapping, resilience, effective teams and wellbeing.

Jim was then placed into the Co-operative Logistics business as national Head of People Engagement, working across 17 sites, and supporting a network ‘change’ programme over 7 years. This involved securing of a gold standard IIP award and various CPD awards for highly innovative approaches to employee engagement across the Co-op group.

In 2013 Jim accepted a consultancy role within the national criminal justice system, working in Merseyside with a newly appointed senior management team. This became a full-time organisational and business development role, culminating in Jim being appointed Head of Business Development with Interserve plc, providing ‘Citizens Services’ across Justice, Health and Learning, leading a team of 12 sales managers. In 2018 Jim moved back into his own business, providing change management support to a range of organisations. He also worked as a business mentor to a start-up, resulting in the establishment of a series of children’s care homes being set up across the North.
