John joined People Puzzles in June of 2018 bringing with him over 30 years’ experience in HR and general management. He has strong business acumen and believes that fundamentally HR’s role is to add value to an organisation by helping to ensure that business plans, leadership and management teams and culture are aligned to drive bottom line results.
John has worked in a diverse number of organisations including manufacturing, distribution, retail, healthcare and building services. Predominately this has been in generalist HR roles but he has also been a Commercial Director, Manufacturing Director and whilst at AAH Pharmaceutical he was both the IT and HR Director which led to his role as HR Director to merge AAH and Lloyds Pharmacy.
He also had a time working for himself with SME’s in the retail and IT sector before being asked to be the HR Director at TNT where he was part of a new Board of Directors who were focused on a huge change programme to turn around a loss-making business.
John now wants to refocus his efforts on the SME world where he believes he can have an impact helping business leaders by providing real and practical advice which are sustainable and achievable.
John is CIPD qualified with a BA Honours and Masters Degree in HR Management. In his early life John was a keen rugby player but now prefers to watch from afar but still likes to keep fit at the gym and on his road bike. And is still highly competitive!
