Results driven with an outstanding track record in delivering transformational change programmes to increase company efficiency and profitability. Over 25 years’ experience in HR gained in a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, retail, distribution, manufacturing and hospitality.
Most recently I was the HR Director for DX Network Services and a member of the Board of Directors who turned the business around from loss to profit in two years, significantly ahead of schedule. I took the lead in ensuring the right people were in the right places to develop a positive customer centric culture that re-energised the business and supported an ambitious growth programme. This included managing a companywide consultation programme with all 4,000 employees across the UK & ROI to ensure all terms and conditions of employment were revised to increase employee engagement whilst also ensuring they met the future business requirements. I also had the privilege of rebuilding and modernising the HR and Payroll team. Introducing new systems and ways of working and helping each individual to reach their potential whilst also ensuring they worked together to be recognised by customers as a motivated, high performing and agile team.
Prior to this I was part of the Leadership team of family-owned Recruitment company Resourcebank. I was brought onboard to establish and build a profitable new direction for the business with the launch of the HR consultancy and shared HR Administration & ER outsourcing service. During that time I worked with a variety of companies from an events company with 12 employees to an engineering company with 2000 employees providing effective HR services that supported their growth and profitability. I was also the HR Director for Resourcebank and oversaw the development and delivery of HR services for the 70 employees with a focus on team development and coaching.
Underpining my success in these two challenging roles was the 15 years of global experience I had gained in most HR specialisms whilst working with companies such as Astra Zeneca, Marks & Spencer, Dixons Stores Group and Pepsico International.
During my time at Astra Zeneca I took the lead in the delivery of a global change programme impacting 8,000 employees across the US, UK and Sweden which radically impacted the delivery of new drugs for key disease areas. I also introduced a new career development and coaching programme for scientific managers that increased attraction and retention rates by 20% and managed the outsourcing of 30 inhouse services as part of a review of the effectiveness of the diverse historic facilities services.
I am a Chartered member of the CIPD and have MSC in Strategic Human Resources with commendation from Nottingham Trent university.
