Starting her HR career in recruitment Louise ran resourcing teams delivering one-off hires and global campaigns specialising in the finance and travel sectors working with Robert Walters and clients including CSFB, Barclays and Morgan Stanley as well as start-ups Lastminute.com and ING Direct. Her natural ability to understand the true need in the business and natural eye for attracting the right candidate helped her move her career in-house leading international resourcing functions for Barclays Wealth and Standard Bank.
Working with CEO’s and Managing Directors Louise helped to shape these businesses, setting the strategic direction, ensuring the changes were co-ordinated and exceptionally executed to deliver the capability required globally. Leading global work streams to design group resourcing architectures, and projects on a variety of HR initiatives (L&D, Restructuring, ER, EVP, Engagement, Culture, Grad programmes / Academies etc).
Becoming the HR Director at Standard Bank, her key focus was to design and deliver the five-year business strategy and redefine the business model to ensure PBBI remained a viable piece of the Group portfolio. Leading operational HR teams across 5 jurisdictions and advising the CEO and Strategic Committee on TOM and OD adaptations to reduce infrastructure, people related costs & risks over the immediate and five -year term as well as helping them identify & address capability gaps to ensure they delivered on their strategy.
One of Louise’s passions is to ensure a business is structured in the best way to drive growth and minimise cost on recruitment. Returning to Barclays as an advisor to the Head of Resourcing for global CIB, Operations, Technology and Functions (OT&F) on operating design and business model as Barclays underwent a significant global cultural change programme. From remodelling individual resourcing teams to remodelling and reviewing cost reduction of the global delivery of OT&F resourcing team. This team partnered 9 global functions across 5 divisions and delivered 3000+ hires annually via a fragmented delivery model with 3 RPO in seat and multiple duplications in processing methodologies.
