Suzanne ensures the right problem is being resolved in the right way, by mixing strategic thinking and commercial understanding of the situation, with a big dose of common sense- whilst balancing the needs of the customer, people, and business.


Suzanne is down to earth and pragmatic in her approach to problem solving. Her specialist areas are leadership, service, engagement, continuous improvement and change management. She enjoys delivering transformational projects, strategy development, and creating the right environment for high performing teams to form.

Suzanne is experienced working at board level in both PLC and Private Equity companies but is also happy to roll up her sleeves to support delivery, being successful as she adapts her style of leadership to the situation and stakeholders.

During her early career she worked in operational roles at both Woolworths and then Tesco, leading change projects covering a wide range of complex issues and priorities; from customer service, cost saving, simplification of processes and compliance. When the opportunity arose to become the Head of HR for Tesco Express she grabbed it with both hands and built a solid people plan to enable the company to expand quickly, whilst building strong people foundations. Finally, in Tesco she moved to a Management Development Director role in Tesco Central Europe, before moving to Asda. There Suzanne build and lead the Organisation Development team, developed the 5-year UK People Plan and worked with the Walmart teams in the USA and Canada.

Deciding to branch away from retail, whilst working as an independent HR consultant, Suzanne worked in many other sectors including IT, healthcare, education and manufacturing companies, helping them to understand how to deliver their business strategy by creating high performing teams.

Suzanne’s last corporate role was HR Director of Poundworld. Working alongside her board colleagues and the PE owners, she created and implemented a plan to improve all elements of the employee life cycle (and along the way she increased her remit by taking on the Group Operations Director role).

Suzanne is passionate about development, and enjoys learning, and providing opportunities for others to learn and develop. She is a Fellow of the CIPD and has also completed a coaching programme with Barefoot coaching enabling her to further support the leaders she works with.
