As a dynamic entrepreneurial HR Director with over 30 years experience mainly in the retail and hospitality sectors, Paul is skilled at delivering company growth, bottom line improvement and competitive advantage by devising and linking HR strategies with the business direction.
Paul’s has worked in large blue chip companies and family owned and small enterprises including start-ups not only in the UK but also in Europe, Asia (TESCO) and the Middle East. Having lived and worked in Malaysia, China, Singapore and Kuwait.
Having worked at both board level and alongside owner operators and within joint ventures, Paul is skilled at influencing and making things happen. He thrives in change focused and transformational environments. His last role, which was based in Kuwait, involved transforming both the Kuwait and UK restaurant brands from individual operating companies into a central company whilst retaining the individual brand culture within the new corporate identity. This coupled with the new People strategy, which included a new leadership development programme; put people at the forefront of operational excellence increasing productivity, motivation and reducing staff turnover in all operational markets.
Experiences within PP have been diverse ranging from hospitality to retail, but also including the charity sector and FinTech including working with one client for over 5 years. One client wanted someone who had worked in Malaysia and understood the culture. Paul was able to harness my experiences from my corporate roles and conduct a reorganisation and has worked with them ever since. Paul is culturally sensitive and used to adapting working practices to suit different cultures.
Paul is a member of the CIPD and holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Personnel and Development.
