Richard has advised senior leadership teams across sectors as diverse as retail, manufacturing, technology, media and professional firms. Richard has worked extensively with owner managed and scaling businesses, and has the ability to completely understand their challenges and provide comprehensive and innovative solutions.
After joining the trainee management scheme at Sainsburys, Richard was a line manager who, like many others, found the HR process to be restrictive and outdated in an ever changing and demanding labour market. Richard left employment to achieve a Bachelor’s degree in Business, majoring in Human Resources Management.
Since graduating, Richard has worked as a senior HR leader both inhouse and as a director for an HR consultancy firm. Richard is confident discussing all things people and brings his extensive employment law knowledge as well as his creative mindset to find new ways of achieving desired outcomes.
Spending the past 20 years working alongside businesses to aid their growth and lead on their people strategies has meant that Richard has undertaken numerous large scale and challenging projects. These have included creating a global incentivisation scheme, scaling business for sale, designing training schemes to overcome talent attraction issues, undertaking career mapping to reduce labour turnover, led TUPE transfers during mergers / acquisitions and completing numerous restructures to better align the people plan to the business plan.
Richard has a calm approach and when faced with problems, will focus on fixing rather than blaming and helping companies become employers of choice.
