Summary
Rob is a highly commercial senior HR leader with extensive experience gained across a variety of sectors – Life Science, Financial Services, FMCG – from FTSE listed companies to fast-scaling SMEs. In recent years, Rob thrives by helping founders and CEOs co-create and develop their organisation and teams, unlock potential and fix bottlenecks.
Rob established his credentials by developing his HR capabilities with global blue-chip businesses, which also provided terrific opportunities to live and work abroad (Italy, Greece and 8 years in The Netherlands). With H.J. Heinz and Barclays Bank, Rob gained significant experience collaborating and negotiating with Trade Unions to establish more progressive working practices, more effective reward arrangements and ultimately to nurture a more performance-orientated culture. With AstraZeneca, Rob developed HR teams to partner with business leaders and focus rigorously on achieving key business goals. He also led a number of initiatives to develop leader, manager and team-player skills to lift employee engagement and productivity.
Since returning to the UK 10 years ago, Rob has typically partnered with Founders of small and medium businesses with ambition. For the last 6 years, Rob was Chief People Officer for GAMA Healthcare, an innovative global healthcare business (68th fastest growing private company in UK, according to Sunday Times July ’22). Here, Rob partnered closely with both CEOs to devise and embed simple, effective people practices, a distinctive culture and values, leading to a series of Awards (Leading with Purpose, Wellbeing, Business Culture of the Year).
A Fellow of the CIPD and with strong generalist experience, Rob can advise business leaders on all areas of HR (reward, training and development, hiring, designing jobs and team structures, facilitating workshops etc.
However, Rob’s biggest strength and passion is helping founders and leaders co-create and develop their organisation and teams, unlock potential and fix bottlenecks.
