People Puzzles re-engage with Today Team to support record post-lockdown growth

People Puzzles has resumed working with award-winning logistics company Today Team – to support the business through a period of post-lockdown growth and a major recruitment drive.

Jayne Chadwick of People Puzzles first worked with Today Team in September 2017 when she helped business owner Jamie Boyd to recalibrate his staff to fuel an ambitious growth plan – a project that won a CIPD People Management award in 2019.

Since then, Jayne kept in touch with Jamie and was delighted to start working with the business again in April this year.

‘The plan was always to re-engage with Jayne after our original project,’ Jamie says. ‘We needed to let all the positive changes settle in. It’s happened a little later than planned with Covid, but we’re now well underway with chapter two and it’s been a big boost for me and the team.

‘We started out by making sure the team were all in a good place following the strange times we’ve been through, then we’ve moved on to how our people plan is supporting our growth plans. Having someone like Jayne in the business has been invaluable.’

Part of that people plan included building up the senior management team with a new Logistics Team Manager, who Jayne helped to recruit. Today Team has also brought in a new Marketing Manager, a full-time Apprentice, and has just appointed a new Logistics Coordinator to further strengthen the senior management team – four starters in total.

The new recruits will support the fast growth that the business is currently experiencing. ‘I am proud that we are now on track to reach £1.8m in turnover this financial year, which represents a 35% growth compared to 2019,’ says Jamie. ‘This gives us a strong foundation to build upon as we head into our busiest time of the year.’
