Kathryn is a highly experienced HR Director with a breadth of sector experience. Warm, pragmatic and with a common-sense approach, she thrives on helping businesses and leaders succeed in a variety of commercial situations.
Summary
Kathryn has spent over twenty-five years as a member of Executive Boards in major and diverse companies (eg Aviva, Serco and Balfour Beatty) where she led the people agenda. She is a consultant and has also volunteered with Pilotlight, coaching charities on how to become more effective and sustainable.
She uses the combination of her broad corporate experience and strategic perspective to quickly understand and address the people related issues unique to each client, with a particular focus on businesses at an inflection point of change/transformation. She is skilled in advising, coaching and facilitating, organisation design, culture change and leadership team effectiveness. Experienced in all aspects of HR, she can convert strategy into plans and deliver effectively for her clients.
She has helped businesses:-
• Turnaround – in one case turning a £6m loss into profit;
• Transform by overhauling the organisation structure to make it more customer centric, and centralising support functions to reduce cost and improve effectiveness;
• Digitise by implementing cloud-based software to improve productivity
• Be more customer centric by aligning activities, culture and roles accordingly
Her style is straightforward and pragmatic. She is passionate about ensuring there is alignment between purpose, culture, strategy and people (customers, leaders and employees) and making sure HR is relevant and capable.
Kathryn has an MA in Economics and Psychology, and is a Fellow of the CIPD.
