Sarah is a pragmatic, down to earth HR Professional (FCIPD), with over 30 years’ experience of enhancing organisational capability. She provides joined up HR strategies and solutions to help deliver improved business performance.
Summary
Sarah has spent the majority of her career in growing, successful mid-tier businesses. She has over 10 years’ experience of working at Executive and board level in Private Equity backed businesses She has also worked in larger global matrix organisations such as ABB and Alstom Power.
She started her career in the public sector, made the leap into her first private sector management role in manufacturing and engineering, working for GEC in a highly unionised environment. Seven years in B2B services followed as HR Director for a market research consultancy before moving into Private Equity-backed mental health provision, a stint in Not-for-Profit and most recently People and Quality Director for a Private Equity backed national young people’s care and education provider. She has also been a non-legal member of Employment Tribunals for over 20 years.
Sarah easily adapts to different businesses as her career path shows and has successfully developed, written and delivered effective HR strategies in all her roles. She thrives on understanding business drivers and priorities and developing practical, uncomplicated measurable people solutions.
Her specialist areas include leading the HR element of acquisitions, senior leadership development, defining and embedding values and culture, engagement, continuous improvement, strategy development and performance management.
Sarah is passionate about supporting and developing others and acts as a sounding board for her peers, has mentored middle managers and job seekers as part of the CIPD mentoring programme.
